ML102 - This Lorenzo Marcy magic lantern was the cream of the crop in about 1870. It’s original, state-of-the-art ‘triple wick oil lamp’ was replaced with an electric fixture, probably about 1915. Though the rear reflector is missing, it is functional. This projector was used in a silent movie theatre in L.A.. When I acquired it, it came with glass slides of movies (precursors to trailers) to be played “Coming Soon” and advertising slides for local businesses and events (L.A. Home & Garden Show of 1918, Sale of War Bonds (WWI) and other happenings around L.A.. Glass slides of religious nature, travel and silent movie advertising can be supplied. Most slides are 1915 -1925. 18" L x 14" Tall (at top of chimney).
